A massive congratulations to Sir Bradley Wiggins on an incredible year. Max and I met Bradley a couple of months back at a fundraising event. Any excuse to post the photo!

Chris's fine Road Rocket build

Chris AKA the UK distro for Lightweight and Parlee is a man who likes to build his bikes ups nice. And by nice we I mean nothing less than Lightweight Wheels, Gravitas brakes and some fine Rotor Kit. Pretty pimp. Lots more photos here.

Sweet build: Joe's Dream Machine

Sweet winter training build on a 2011 Dream Machine.

Tokyo Fixed Wide Open gets a great review on Bike Radar

"If you were looking to downsize your growing and unruly stable of bikes to just one machine, the Wide Open could just be the keeper." 4/5 Stars.

We're pretty happy with this review. The journalists at Cycling Plus / Bike Radar seemed to really enjoy the ride quality and versatility of the Wide Open

We're very excited about this book release. Made in England documents in detail the current thriving UK frame building scene. The book is put together by among others good friend and frame builder Ricky Feather and his wife photographer Kayti Peschke.

Book available here.

We did a interview with the books co author Matthew Sowter with some exclusive photos which you can read here

Sexy Black Cinelli Vigorelli

The Cinelli Vigorelli has always been one of my favorite track frames. The geometry is no thrills and the tubing is one of the finest alloy tubing sets around. The Vigorelli rides butter smooth and in the world of track bikes has become a bit of a classic. The black edition has been available in the USA for a while but is a new edition to the UK. I'm glad its made its way over. The Vigorelli is looking better than ever! Available here

Hinault crashing into a ravine

I'm currently reading Slaying the Badger: LeMond, Hinault and the Greatest Ever Tour de France. The author describes this dramatic event in which Hinault fly's off the road while descending minutes ahead of the pack in the Dauphine Libere. Hinault could have died but some how he hangs onto the hillside and is back onto his bike in minutes. Hinault goes on to win the stage. Glad someone stuck this on youtube.

Morvelo New Season In Stock

Morvelo's new season has arrived just in time for Christmas. Morvelo have used a new matte finish fabric for their jerseys which not only has a less shiny look but is more durable. Jersey's also come with a hidden back zippable pocket and a refelectiv tab. Morvelo bib shorts now come with Printed Gripper Elastic leg bands for maximum hold and smooth pro finish. Instead of stitching in silicone tape, PGE is a solid and light strip of 5cm deep printed elastic that holds the shorts gently in place. The ideal blend of style and functionality.

Santa's new whip

It's coming up to Christmas so we decided to build a festive bike. Santa was feeling that the sleigh was a little outdated, and spec'd up this Dream Machine.

Gives you a good idea of just how versatile this frame is!
Cheers Chris, we'll see you next year when the cyclescheme rolls round again.

Velo Bici Van Chilli Longsleeve Jersey & Thermal Oversock

This is a seriously high quality Winter product from Velo Bici. Made in Britain, this jersey possibly with thermals and warmers is heavy enough to be worn with no jacket over. The jersey has all the same rear pockets and styling of the short sleeve jersey with the classic bold VB stitching. This a extremely useful addition to your cycling kit and will be sure to put a big smile on your face on a cold Winter morning. Also to protect you from the cold in style Velo Bici bring the Thermal Oversock.

TF Imports Fenders Back in Stock

TF Imports Fenders are back in stock. We're now stocking the alloy fenders in narrow and wide sizes. These fenders have the clean classic looks of their premium counterparts but are far cheaper than anything else you will find out there. I use a pair of wooden fenders on my porteur bike and they're still going strong after a year. And look great.

Tokyo Fixed Gift Ideas

If your looking for gift ideas for the cycling mad we have set up a Christmas Gifts category to narrow down our stock to some of our seasonal favorites.

Personal picks:

Kask Sky Mojito helmet. Anyone who owns a Kask will tell you no helmet they've ever owned has ever come as close. This year  the Sky team's pro choice is the more compact and considerably cheaper Mojito.

Chrome Bags - Yalta Tokyo Ltd Series. The Tokyo series follows the popular London series. The bags come in a plush dark blue and the detailing in the leather and inside the bags is stunning. Chrome have really out done them selves here.

Cinelli : the Art and Design of the Bicycle. This the long awaited book covering the deep history of design with the Cinelli firm. This book would appeal to anyone interested in bikes or design or even both.

OoVG - Chromatic Guide to Gear Ratios. The gear ratio chart print. To those not into cycling this might be a hard one to understand. But just trust me. This ones a safe bet.

XMAS Promo's

Do the right thing a get yourself your dream handbuilt wheelset this Christmas for 50% off labor.

Custom Vanishing Point all built up

The Tonic Vanishing Point = a beast of a road frame. For those that know steel is real the Vanishing Point is a top offer. Custom, made in the USA with a waiting list and price very shy of the competition. Kevin chose excellent parts for the build using Campag Chorus, Chris King on Enve rims, 3T build kit and a few King Cage Ti cages. More photos here.
