Riding in Yorkshire with Ricky Feather

Whilst up visiting my family over the long weekend myself and a friend made some time to go and see Ricky Feather at his home in York. We took in a nice 50 mile loop around some Yorkshire hills and combined it with a little visit to the workshop. I've got a new frame on order from him, so it was nice to talk about some specs on quiet roads face-to-face.

Rollapaluza presents Keirin racing at Herne Hill

There was a excellent turnout on Sunday for the UK's first Keirin event. The racing was well fought by amateur and pro's alike. In the novice race team riders Marcus and Jacob came away with first and third. An excellent result. More photos here. You can read a great race report on the 5th Floor blog. More photos here

Arundel Cages: The only metal cages good enough for pro bikes!

Yes these amazing stainless cages were used over carbon to get the bike over the weight limit. But still the mechanics could have chosen any stainless cages for Ryder Hesjedal's incredible machine.
On the subject of Arundel cages, we've got them in stock. These cages are stiff, tough and don't scratch the bottle. There is a Arundel to suite every build. Carbon, plastic and stainless.  Available here

Line of Sight In Stock

Line of Sight is without a doubt the best film on alley cats ever made. Filmed almost entirely from the helmet cams of Lucas Brunelle the footage is thrilling. This film gives you a rare look into the most risky and hard to cover forms of racing around.

Vulpine Feather Frame in the window

Nick dropped his incredible Feather off today, and its so hot the kids were queuing up to take a look.

Keirin Racing is coming to London this August!

We've been wanting to be involved in a Keirin event ever since we opened up shop. So when Rollapaluza founder Caspar approached me with the idea for this event we jumped on the opportunity to sponsor it.
This is the real deal! Rollapaluza are the best race organisers around and this race will not disappoint. There is going to be full day of racing, a whole bunch of professional GB riders travelling down and to top it all off the racing is happening at crowd favourite Herne Hill Velodrome. We will be down there with bikes on display and perhaps some free give aways.

Riding in the Valleys

Last weekend I headed out to Powys county, Wales for a short break with the family. In between the dog walking and dad duty I was able to get out on the bike. Mid Wales is a rugged landscape, scattered with bald hills, sheep and lots of winding roads. According to Wikipedia its known as the Green Desert, scarcely populated etc. Even though my ride was relatively short I didn't have to go far to find stunning first class roads. Especially the roads winding up the Ellan Valley which follow the banks of the reservoirs on a steady ten mile climb climaxing on a steeper climb with actual hair pins which lift you out of the valley and spits you out onto a long fast descent which takes you back to town. You can get out to this riding in less than four hours from London! And the riding really is in a class of its own!

Morten's S2 Build

Beautiful build by Morten in Denmark. There's nothing I like more than a well photographed bike. Even better a well photographed Tokyo Fixed bike. Don't hesitate to send us photos of your TF build so we can get them up on the blog. More photos here

British Cycling is pretty cool right about now

And the press say he's not a typically British athlete. I'd say this looks more typically British than say... Zara Phillips. Allez Wiggo!
