I'v been excited for this event since Agi first mentioned the idea to me many months back. The racing will be hard and f***ing hot, hopefully a bit dusty as well.
"We feel there is a lack of endurance fixed gear road races worldwide. People have done touring on track bikes, long distance group rides and alleycat races. We wanted to combine all of the above with an event that oozes with history. The most epic of all races, a tribute to a simpler time, which will dictate the next track star.

COURSE:
Start: 48x17 Cycles, Acropolis, Veikou 2, 11742
The course will cover the distance from Acropolis to Marathon and back.
Finish: 48x17 Cycles, Acropolis.
Every contestant should follow the given route. This route will be provided in a later stage but it passes through Kifisias Avenue all the way up to Agios Stefanos and then turns towards Marathon Lake. Contestants should pass the lake get stamped on the other side and then follow the same way back. Any contestant diverting from these simple rules will be disqualified immediately. Please see the route on bikely link provided to avoid any confusion. Marshalls have the right to disqualify any rider if they judge so.
There will be race marshalls on motorbikes en route and several key points.
There will be music and drinks for spectators at 48x17 Cycles as we will wait for the riders to return.

Registration at 48x17 Cycles. Riders can register by phone/ paypal/ e-mail or in person at 48x17 Cycles. The registration will close 3 days prior to the race.
Registration fee: 5 euros
Bikes: track and fixed gear only (conversions allowed)
Front brake: allowed.
Gear ratio: free
Helmets compulsory, dropbars and bullhorns only.
Aluminum cogs, non-matching drivetrain pitch, loctite hubs not allowed.
Skitching is not permitted.
Contestants are encouraged to carry their mobile phones. In case of emergency contact our doctor 6974351181 (Yiannis). There will be a doctor at the race but all contestants participate at their own risk. Traffic laws should be followed on their entirety.
All bicycles will be checked thoroughly by our mechanics prior to the race. If we don’t think your bike’ s safe you will be out of the race – no questions asked."
