Shocking attempted murder of cyclists in Brazil

This happened last week in San Jose, Brazil. When something like this happens I think it reflects the attitude of a certain few. Quite simply its attempted murder and the driver of the VW should rot in jail for the rest of his life.

Mellow Johnny's

Lance's latest rides.

Mellow Johnny' was beyond anything I could have expected.  Firstly its enormous. Condor X4, Tokyo Fixed X20. Niceley laid out with a freat range of parts on display. But the best thing by far was the range of handmade American bikes on offer. Rows of Parlee's, Beloved Bikes & Cielo's. Total bike porn everywhere you look. More photos here

Touch Down in Austin

Submissions are now open for the  Eleventh Annual Bicycle Film
Festival! The BFF is looking for films with a bike-related theme. Any
style is acceptable: animation, experimental, narrative, documentary
and music videos are all a go.

There is no fee to enter your film, simply download a submission form
from the BFF website, and send a copy of the film to the BFF Head
Office in New York.

The Bicycle Film Festival began in 2001 when Brendt Barbur, founding
director of the festival was hit by a bus while riding his bike in New
York City. He insisted on turning his negative experience into a
positive one.  The Bicycle Film Festival is a platform to celebrate
the bicycle through music, art and, of course, film.

The BFF travels to over 25 cities around the world, including Paris,
London, Tokyo, New York -- and Sydney. Last year, more than 225,000
people attended the festival. The BFF is not only a showcase for new
films, but also, includes rock shows, street parties, art shows,
dinners, bike rides and more!

The BFF over the past ten years is proud to be a platform for exposure
for many independent filmmakers and artists, and to show a range of
emerging filmmakers to established artists, including Albert Maysles,
Spike Jonze, Mike Mills, The Neistat Brothers, Michel Gondry, and Tom

The 2011 submission deadline is April 1.  Any inquiries please contact Brendan or Jen at:

Thanks so much!

Tough Little Guy

UCI World Cup 2011 - Awang's Splinter Update from British Cycling on Vimeo.

We all saw the crash in last weeks Keirin final but something a little harder to see was the massive splinter in Azizulhasni Awang's leg. Arrow through the leg!

S1 Build

We're so happy with how this frame built up and even more happy with how it rides. Columbus Spirit is one of the lightest and stiffest tubing sets around and matched with the notoriously stiff kasei bladed forks this is a high end ride. We have added chromed chain stays and mean fast back stays also.  At £750 it will be our most expensive frame but it packs a lot for the price. View more photos here

VAGX - Ellipse Daypack

Kinfolk Studios, Brooklyn NY

Congratulations to Kinfolk on the opening of their NY Studio. When we met Ryan in Tokyo last year he was in the initial stages of clinching this unit. Very glad everything moved along so quickly. Though Kinfolk aren't ones to mess around. I'm looking forward to all the big things which will be going on here. Omedeto!

You can buy T-Shirts designed specifically for the event here

Hello again

We sent this frame out to Japan a while ago, its nice to see it again on the old Yahoo Auction Japan. The seller is asking for over £3000, good luck to him! It had a crank?

2011 Leader 725TR

The new 725TR is a very special looking frame. Basically its got smooth welds which are a bit of a rarity on Aluminium frames. We've got our order on the water, it should be with us early March.

Taking a bite out of Sram Yellow

This Sram Yellow group will be going onto a very nice build. Give it a few days.

Tokyo Fixed S2 Frame Preview

This is the first look at the silver S2 frame. The S2 is a great all round track frame. The frame has tight geometry but has clearance for up to 28c tyres & front and rear drilling for brakes. This means it can build up a classy single speed or an aggressive track bike. The ride is as stiff you can expect from a track frame, with stainless steel dropouts and Columbus Thron tubing. Colour options are Fighter Jet Silver & Pearl White. Frame & Fork price is £350.  Our first drop is mid March.

Speedvagen Build

The Speedvagen is without a doubt one of my favourites. This build from April last year is a stunner. I hope our Vanishing Point, which is a very similar frame to the Speedvagen comes out as nice!

Easton EC90 SL Carbon Clinchers

These have been the wheels of my dreams for a long time. Easton one part carbon clincher rims laced to CNC machined Easton hubs with Sapim CX Ray spokes. Red nipples too. We have a set in store, they will be up on the web asap.

Cherubim Piuma Build

We are so happy with this build. We were in two minds whether to go Japanese and use a Shimano group or to go down the Tune route but at the end of the day the Alloy Campagnolo Athena group is going to make this Piuma fly and definitely looks the part. As do the Royce hubs and Nitto stem & seat post. With all this metal you'd expect the bike to be heavy but it is not, the scales say 8.4kg which won't get the bike onto any german light bike forums but is anything but heavy for a bike like this.

Most likely we will shoot some more photos of this bike. More photos can be found here

This bike & Cherubim frame ARE for sale. Specs and price to follow

Sugino bits back in stock. Because of rising Sugino prices we are now doing the silver RD Crank with the RD chain ring only. In all honesty I prefer it this way.
